History of the Yarn Gala
Since this project started, we’ve had over 200 items, knitted by over 75 people. Some of the knitting groups involved were from Ben Franklin Crafts, Books & Company, The Knitch in Delafield, Delafield Library, and Our Saviors Lutheran Church- to mention a few. Even the Girl Scouts got involved (Troop # 2257) in helping to assemble our Title Sponsorship Tree at Fowler Park. All this came out of our inspiration from a sweet 92 year old woman in England who “yarn bombed” a friends bike. We saw this picture and thought perhaps we could do this in our town not only to color the community, but to raise awareness and funds for the Lake Area Free Clinic. Things took off from there.
